These are pictures taken when I went over 40 weeks with our lil Everett.
This year Brett and I wanted to get a a real tree we went to this quaint place and picked us up a little Charlie Brown tree... I call him Charlie.
WELCOME
TO THE WORLD BABY EVERETT!
I look awful in these pictures but it was the first time I got to hold my little guy and it was such an amazing feeling. I was somewhere between crying and smiling. It's a magical feeling. So here's Everett Kimball Hall's birth story:
I went 4 days over my due date and I was a little tired of being pregnant ha ha you know 40 weeks is a long time! ;) So we set up a day to be induced on December 4th. The hospital called us the night before to tell us to be at the hospital the next morning at 6:30 am. I couldn't sleep that night cause I was so excited/nervous so I made banana cake for the nurses at the hospital. ha ha That night at 2:30 I woke up and my water had started to leak. I think he was ready to come anyway. We went in at 6:30 am and around 7:30 they started me on the lowest amount of Pitocin and were planning on upping it but Ev's heart rate didn't like it so they never did but they didn't need to because my body took to it and started progressing quickly. Went in to the hospital at a 4 and 90 percent effaced and by 10:00 I was a 6. I was cracking jokes because I was so nervous and the contractions weren't too bad...yet. By 11:00 they were a lot worse! And I was no longer joking through them. So Brett called our wonderful nurse Becky and she checked and I was a 9. She didn't expect that! So she called the doctor(wonderful Dr. Harrison) and she was there in minutes and she broke my water and I pushed for 15 minutes(15 very loooooong minutes)and then Everett was here! I did "constructive pushes," or so the nurse called them :) It was harder than I thought it would be that's for sure. I didn't do an epidural but believe me when it came to the pushing I was wishing I had! ha ha
Any who... Love my little guy more than I thought I could love anyone and Brett is the best daddy and when I wasn't able to move much or take care of Ev he took care of both of us. All I can say is I am one lucky girl!
Love my boys!
Can't believe that this little guy came from me.
We make 'em big! Everett Kimball Hall was 20 in long and 9 pounds... I
knew he had to be big my stomach was so tight! Not to mention big!
Taking our little boy home! He almost didn't fit the outfit we brought.
Our bar has turned into our baby station. So funny thing our little guy likes to sleep but there's a hitch... at night he has to sleep between me and Brett or in my arms... but he does sleep. Last night he went to bed at 10 pm and slept in my arms in our comfy chair woke up at 3:30 ate and went back to sleep till 7:30 am. We can't help but spoil him! Hopefully he keeps it up though....
In his cradle... doesn't sleep in it... each time he's laid in it his eyes peek open just like this picture.
Daddy and his Ev.
2 of a kind! He's his daddies boy alright!
This picture is my favorite! he was asleep on our bed and grinning in his sleep.
How can you not love this face!?
Our bath this morning...
if I keep the wash clothe on his arms he doesn't mind being naked as much...
He is SO CUTE! I'm so glad your labor went smoothly. You are so brave and tough for not using an epidural! Let me know if you ever need anything!
ReplyDeleteAlso, both my kids did the same thing...they slept well in our bed, but their eyes would pop right open when I put them in the bassinet. Once they were a couple months they were fine sleeping alone though!
he is ADORABLE!!!!!! congrats!!! im so proud of you!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED your whole post on Ev's birthday! Keep the pictures coming. You are such a great mom. You look so happy! I am thrilled your little Ev is here! I can't wait to meet him. Brett looks so happy too. Love you guys! JillCoon
